The 8th AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics, and Society

The 8th AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics and Society (AIES 2025) will be held October 20-22 in Madrid, Spain and will focus on topics pertaining to ethical and societal issues of AI technology, including trustworthiness, fairness, privacy, governance, human-AI interaction, and the broader social impacts of AI deployment across various sectors.

AIES is the premier venue for disseminating research on the ethical ramifications of AI systems and their impact on societies. This event is convened each year by program co-chairs from Computer Science, Law and Policy, the Social Sciences, Ethics and Philosophy. Our goal is to encourage talented scholars in these and related fields to submit their best work related to morality, law, policy, psychology, other social sciences, and AI.

AIES is one of the flagship conferences of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).

At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the main conference to present their work in person. Remote presentation of accepted papers is not permitted.

AAAI Code of Conduct for Events & Conferences

All persons, organizations and entities that attend AAAI conferences and events are subject to the standards of conduct set forth on the AAAI Code of Conduct for Events and Conferences.

The AIES-25 Conference registration fee includes admission to all paper sessions, invited talks, and access to the electronic AIES-25 proceedings.

Refund Requests

The deadline for refund requests is September 15, 2025. All refund requests must be made in writing to aies@aaai.org. A $50.00 processing fee will be assessed for all refunds.
